Pound vs. United States Dollar Rates
(1900-1966)
Rates between the British pound sterling and
the U.S. dollar were used to calculate the value of the Australian pound
in United States dollars for rates prior to 1930. From 1933 until 1949
the value of the Australian pound was fixed to 0.80 pounds sterling = 1
Australian pound. The Australian pound was devalued by 30% in 1949.

when Australia replaced its currency with the dollar. In 1966 Australia
decimalised its currency and adopted the Australian dollar at a rate of
